Ford Bronco might go all-electric soon
While the debutant F-150 Lightning is set to be Ford’s latest EV offering to hit the global stage on May 19, the CEO hints at another EV offering that might follow soon. Ford’s new CEO Jim Farley has posted a decryptive tweet that sort of hints at their upcoming electric offering.
Its no doubt that Ford Motor’s new CEO Jim Farley has been re-modelling the company's roadmap to success. The CEO is trying everything from shaking up the company’s top ranks to restructuring operations to bolster shareholder confidence and hold its position in the increasingly competitive market.
Given the CEO’s plan of action for the company, we might see an all-electric Bronco SUV. Looking at the way in which all-electric iteration is quite the trend for almost every major automaker like Jeep and Mercedes, it will only be fair if we are able to see an all-electric Magneto concept that is loosely based on the Wrangler.
If the possibilities are true about the car, the biggest change in the Bronco EV might be seen around the powertrain setup. There are high chances that the current internal combustion engine will be replaced by an electric powertrain setup in the lineup. The ongoing 2.3L EcoBoost and a 2.7L V6 EcoBoost engine might be replaced for one single, powerful offering.
Similar to all the other electrified models, we might be able to see some most definite styling changes in the Bronco, courtesy of the additional adjustments in the exterior of the car. Some of the most definite changes might be around the grille and the hood, giving out some special accents to the overall appeal of the car.
Lastly, we might also be able to see some upgrades in the tech and upholstery. Overall, the car is expected to undergo some major changes when it goes all-electric.
