Nissan teases 2021 Armada and Kicks for the US market
The Japanese automobile manufacturer, Nissan showcased the first teasers of the 2021 Armada and Kicks for the US, ahead of their debut, scheduled to happen at midnight on December 9. The teaser shows a shadowy image of both the cars and it can be guessed how the cars will look as they have already made their debuts in countries like Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan.
Talking about the Nissan Armada facelifted version, it is supposed to follow the design elements of the redesigned Patrol. Having said that, it should come with bigger air intakes, C-shaped LED headlights, redesigned taillight graphics, and an apprehensive front end along with a V-Motion grille.
The cabin should feature twin central touchscreens, quilted leather upholstery, enhanced cooling, improved noise insulation, and airflow distribution systems. It is expected to come with a 5.6 litre naturally-aspirated V8 delivering 400 PS and 560 Nm that comes mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
Along with the Armada, Nissan will also introduce the facelifted Kicks, which flaunts a new front fascia with a larger V-motion grille, vertical fog light housings and sleek LED headlights. Moving to the rear, it gets the new boomerang-shaped taillights along with a completely revamped rear bumper that uses more of the body color.
The majority of the interior should carryover, but it is expected that the new Kicks should flaunt updated switchgear, revised instrument cluster, and a fresh infotainment system.
The powertrain remains a mystery but the Indonesian and Japanese models come equipped with a new e-Power range-extended electric powertrain, that utilizes a motor generating 95 kW (125 PS) of maximum power and 260 Nm of peak torque. Along with that, the 1.2L three-cylinder petrol mill churns out 79 PS and 103 Nm. The combined fuel economy is rated at 21.6 km per litre.
