Revisited 6th-generation 2023 Honda CR-V leaked

With the redesigned Honda CR-V, HR-V and Pilot crossovers slated for launch next year, Honda has a busy year ahead. Earlier this year, Honda unveiled the new HR-V and now we have our first look at the new CR-V. Motor1 discovered these photos on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology website, and they give a clear view of the design of the next-generation CR-V.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • 2023 Honda CR-V engine details?

Honda has not yet announced its powertrain lineup. However, it is likely that the 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-4 base option, along with the hybrid option, will carry over from the current version.
  • When is the 2023 CR-V expected to arrive?

The next-generation CR-V is expected to arrive in 2023, with a stylish but unadventurous design.
  • The next-generation CR-V is expected to arrive in 2023, with a stylish but unadventurous design. CR-Vs are available with third-row seats in some markets, which is why this model is more spacious than the one it replaces, measuring 185.1 inches in length compared to 182.1 inches.

Our best guess from the photos is that the CR-V will come with sharp LED headlights and a cascading grille. A stronger and sportier front end is now evident on the CR-V, as opposed to its friendlier and rounder current generation counterpart. One of the biggest differences on the side is the placement of the side mirror. This is because the SUV is now larger than before, so it might help eliminate blind spots.

With its angular taillights that extend all the way to the roof, the sixth-generation CR-V will also have serious Honda City vibes. As seen in spy shots of prototypes, the interior is also likely to be similar to that of the redesigned 2022 Civic. The platform is likely to be the same one found in the redesigned 2022 Civic.

Honda has not yet announced its powertrain lineup. However, it is likely that the 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-4 base option, along with the hybrid option, will carry over from the current version. Powered by a 2.0-litre inline-4, the hybrid system is equipped with continuously variable transmission and buyers have the option of choosing either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The CR-V is still one of the best-selling models in the small crossover segment, even though there is a lot of competition, including from luxury marques.
