Specification for Nissan 400Z leaked; could get a 450 PS engine
KUALA LUMPUR: The Japanese automaker, Nissan, is in the news for its upcoming hyped model Z sports car. It’s based on the Project Cars 3 driving simulation game that delivers an output of 450 PS. Of course, we are cynical about this figure but we cannot underestimate the acclaimed gaming title of Project Cars.
The details of the 400Z powertrain remain a mystery but the speculations point that the four-wheeler might get a 500 Nm torque and 400 PS engine. This Z car is expected to have Nissan’s VR30DDTT 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine without any electric motor or hybrid mechanism.
The company’s design chief, Alfonso Albaisa told the media last September that the car will resemble much like the photographs provided. The size specifications will match the size of the outgoing 370Z. Reports hint at a different sizing with 5 mm lower and 117 mm shorter but the width would remain the same as that of 370Z.
Nissan 400Z is going to have a remarkable speed with its power being channelized into the rear wheels with the help of a 7-speed transmission and adaptive shift control. This will reflect on the suspension and dynamics of the car. The insights also reveal the six-speed transmission manual gearbox which is pretty much validated.
After an outstanding life span, the 370Z models were becoming defunct from the market. However, the new addition to the Z model lineup, bearing close resemblance to original cars, was a pleasing surprise for the car enthusiasts.
During last year’s launching program, Nissan announced that 400Z will make an entry to the showroom in 2022. So, we can expect the official debut of this much-awaited sports car later this year.
Nissan is also considering different segments, like getting a convertible version to celebrate Z’s illustrious legacy. Aficionados can also expect to see different variants available in the Nismo version.
