Third-gen Nissan Note e-Power launched in Singapore; price starts from S$99,800

We all know the third-generation Nissan Note was unveiled last year in November. The Japanese automaker has now brought the new model on sale in the Singapore market at a starting price of SGD 99,800. However, the model now gets only a petrol hybrid system and there is no combustion-only available.

The new Nissan Note hybrid standard kit includes zero-gravity seats, auto-air conditioning, automatic LED headlamps, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Apart from this, there is also a 7-inch TFT instrument display behind the steering. The precision in acceleration with the one-pedal function enables swift acceleration and deceleration at convenience.

Buyers can expect a frugal economy with better power delivery. However, we still don’t have our hands on the complete specification sheet. What we know is that there is a significant advantage in the Nissan’s e-Power technology that employs a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that serves as a generator to charge its battery pack. This latest development makes it more efficient for operating at lower RPMs and engaging it less frequently at typical driving conditions.

Both the variants have slight differences in features. The Lite variant (priced at S$99,800) comes fitted with fabric upholstery and 16-inch steel wheels. On the other hand, the Premium variant gets leather upholstery and alloy wheels, though it is of the same size.

The safety suite of the new Note gets intelligent forward collision warnings, safety airbags, reverse parking camera and sensors, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and many others. Moreover, a total of 11 color choices are available with this new model.

Getting back to the mechanics, the system in the Nissan Note is also equipped with a new compact inverter and electric motor, which is 30 percent lighter and 40 percent smaller. The new electric motor of e-Power gets better for producing 10 percent more torque. Compared to the previous version, this new e-Power system develops 115 PS and 280 Nm, which is an increase by 6 PS and 26 Nm over the previous iteration.

Quite interestingly, this new iteration is not yet available at a lot of other places in the Asia-Pacific region.
