Subaru Forester

Step inside the Forester, and you would instantly get the feeling of class, comfort, and cutting-edge features. The seats, steering, and gear shift knob are leather-covered, and high-quality material is visible all around. The Forester's dash looks fantastic with its dimpled design elements; the added touch of aluminium pedals add a bit of sportiness to the car. You get keyless entry, a push-button start system, a multi-function steering wheel with cruise control, and paddle shifters in terms of technology. The Bluetooth-compatible audio system comes with a 4.2-inches display that has built-in navigation. The 60/40 split-folding and reclining rear seats allow extra boot space.

The Subaru Forester is a stylish, sporty SUV with striking looks. Its front fascia features LED headlamps with daytime running lights, fog lamps, and a trapezoid grille. Power folding door mirrors with LED turn signals are mounted on each side. Over the top, there are roof spoilers and a large, power-sliding glass sunroof. At the back, you get the LED taillights, rear fog lamps, and the signature shark fin antenna. The SUV is available in seven paint schemes – Ice Silver Metallic, Jasper Green Metallic, Dark Grey Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, Sepia Bronze Metallic, Crimson Red Pearl, and Horizon Blue Pearl.

As opposed to many of today's SUVs that look rugged but are only suitable for city driving, the Forester is an SUV that offers a lot of adventure. It is a pleasure to take this SUV down the off-beaten path. The Subaru's signature Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system and the X-MODE function allows the car to handle challenging terrains. The minimum ground clearance of 220 mm, together with its under guard protection, will help to protect the car's essential components if you are inclined to some serious off-roading. Active Torque Vectoring is another feature that helps the car corner better. When you are taking a sharp corner, it will automatically apply some moderate braking to the inner wheels, which will deliver more torque to the car's outer wheels. The suspension setup on the Forester consists of MacPherson Strut at the front and Double Wishbone at the rear. 

Powering the Subaru Forester is a 1955cc, direct fuel injection, horizontally opposed, 4-cylinder, DOHC, 16-valve petrol engine that generates 154 PS of maximum power and 196 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed Lineartronic automatic transmission. It completes the century sprint in 10.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 193 kmph. The car returns a mileage of 13.5 kmpl. The Forester's Boxer engine is very responsive, and its horizontally opposed design provides it with a low centre of gravity. The combination of Forester's Boxer engine and Subaru Symmetrical all-wheel drive helps the car achieve better stability, especially during hard cornering.

Ventilated discs perform braking at both ends. Subaru has offered new safety features on the latest Forester; some notable safety features include 4-Sensor / 4-Channel ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, emergency stop signal, active torque vectoring, ISO-FIX adapted child seat anchors, brake assist, safety pedal system, brake override, side door reinforcement beams, engine immobiliser, SRS Front, side and curtain airbags, Vehicle Dynamics Control System (VDCS), and SRS knee airbag. 

All-in-all the Forester is a really good family SUV, especially the latest model since it comes with a lot of improvements and enhanced safety features. And, if you're making up your mind to buy it, you can consider paying a little extra and buy the S-version instead of the L-version. The S-version offers many extra features (like the glass sunroof, Subaru Rear Wheel Detection, power rear gate, 18-inches alloy wheels, etc.) which are worth every additional dollar paid.
