Its stripped-down T4 engine is also a similar turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gives out 184 hp of power and 300 Nm of peak torque, maxing out at 210 km per hour top speed.

Both the engine formats are mated to an eight-speed automatic AWD transmission. Coming to the fuel efficiency of the engines, the T5 gives a combined mileage of 10.63 km per litre and the T4 engine gives out the mileage of 12.80 km per litre.

Coming to the braking system of the Volvo XC40, it utilizes four-wheel independent suspension that comprises of MacPherson struts in the front that is further supported by a multi-link on the rear of the car. The braking system comprises of ABS, EBD, and EBA, presenting electronic braking controls.

Considering the safety features, Volvo XC40 is laden with standard automatic emergency braking with forward-collision warnings and active lane control.
