2022 Lexus NX teaser released, global debut on June 12

Lexus has finally dropped the first official teaser of the second generation NX SUV alongside confirming its official debut date i.e. June 12, 2021. The NX has been one such SUV that has been on sale since late 2014.

Even though the SUV had received a facelift a few years ago, the car now looks outdated, when compared to the new RAV4. However, thanks to the leaked video of the upcoming NX that surfaced on the internet back in February, that gave us a pretty clear idea of the revamped looks of the luxury SUV. 

The upcoming offering is based on the TNGA-K platform, following the likes of the Toyota RAV4, with the introduction of the new platform, the second-generational offering is said to bring in several changes to the SUV.

In terms of its design, the redesigned Lexus NX is all set to get more streamlined, in terms of its approach. The car will now be featuring slimmer headlights, paired with integrated L-shaped daytime running lights that move seamlessly to the freshly designed large grille which sport a revised mesh pattern. Overall, the exterior of the car seems to have undergone a major re-work with all its revised styling and smoother lines that now give the luxury SUV a sleeker look.

Interestingly, the SUV is said to be broader, bigger on the inside. The smartly designed cabin space of the car will see major changes. The list of changes starts with a broader dashboard, integrated with a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will be replacing the outdated tablet-style non-touchscreen unit. Interestingly, the interior seems to be the USP of the car with all its next-generational offerings. 

Lastly, talking about the rumors around the powertrain of the car, the previous leaks suggested two powertrains, an NX350h hybrid, and the latest NX450+ plug-in hybrid, introducing the brand to its first-ever plug-in hybrid NX.
