Facelifted Volvo XC40 is here, C40 EV now gets a new trim

The all-new facelifted Volvo XC40 is out. The reveal comes a month after revisited SUV broke cover in the European markets.

    Another addition to the Volvo SUV is 17-, 18-, 19- and 20-inch wheel options, While Sage Green, Fjord Blue, Silver Dawn, and Bright Dusk are the new paint finishes to choose from.

    On the inside, there aren’t as many changes to notice. The facelifted XC40 gets a new Android-based infotainment system, which also gets Google services. Also up for grabs are new suede and wool upholstery options. The wool upholstery, however, is only available on the Recharge trims. The carpet colour is now Fjord Blue instead of the previous Lava.

    The T2 model gets power from a 1.5-litre turbo 3-cylinder that makes 129 PS of maximum power and 245 Nm of peak torque. The B3, B4, and B5, on the other hand, come housing a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder that makes 163 PS and 265 Nm, 197 PS and 300 Nm, and 250 PS and 350 Nm on the three models, respectively. A 6-speed manual, a 7-speed dual-clutch, and an 8-speed automatic are the transmission options on offer.

    Furthermore, the new T4 gets a combination of the T2’s engine and an 82PS & / 160Nm electric motor, delivering a total of 211 PS and 405 Nm. Moreover, the T5’s petrol motor churns out 180 PS & 265 Nm for a total of 262 PS and 425 Nm. Both T2 and T5 get a 7-speed DCT. A 10.7kWh lithium-ion battery delivers a range of 41-45 km.

    Speaking of the pure electric models, the P8 is equipped with twin 204 PS & 330 Nm electric motors and a 78kWh battery that offers a range of up to 418 km. Then there’s the all-new P6 that comes housing a single 231PS front motor and a 69kWh battery. The single-charge range here is up to 423 km.
