MINI plans a revival with its new lineup

With its intent to embrace the electrical future completely, MINI aims to drop off all its combustion engines by 2025. Moving in a step closer to their 2030 EV goal, the British expert of small cars plans to expand its EV range with diverse offerings to appeal to buyers of every type, as per reports by Autocar. 

With a change that has already begun with MINI dropping their electric safety car for the Formula E racing championship, the automaker is said to bring in some great offerings. Expected to bring its car between the end of 2022 and 2025, Mini might introduce us to a small three-door EV with dimensions that stand at 138 inches in length, as per the publication. 

Further, this small MINI will be joined by a bigger, upgraded version of the Countryman crossover besides another long-range electric MPV. Interestingly, the source claims both the Countryman crossover and the MPV to stand around 177 inches in length. 

The Cooper Hardtop is said to find its replacement too, similar to the Cooper convertible and the Clubman variants. Besides all these amazing EV replacements, we might also be able to see a less extreme-looking version of the Electric Pacesetter that was unveiled earlier this month. 

Expected to come in the form of a JCW pure-electric hot hatch, the recently unveiled EV is an ode to the future lineup. With the Pacesetter, the automaker aims to showcase their engineering marvel.

Reports also suggest that MINI might be resurrecting the Minor nameplate for its first model that will be a result of their recent alliance with the BMW/Great Wall alliance in China. The resultant car will be based on a brand-new platform, jointly developed by the German and Chinese brands under this alliance, dubbed ‘Spotlight’. 

Lastly, while the future of MINI EVs is certainly promising, we can only wait for the future to see how things roll out for the automaker.
