MINI reveals a new one-off model, the Strip

Mini isn’t shy when it comes to experimenting with its car. The automaker has earned its name around trying new and better concepts for the future of its vehicles.

In its latest experiment, the vehicle gets more restrained, keeping its stance similar to the regular Mini Cooper Electric. Further, the designers have removed a majority of the parts in the vehicle and stripped it down to its structure, to redesign it with sustainable parts. Mini’s latest concept is now being called the Strip.

Designed in collaboration with fashion designer Paul Smith, the Mini Strip looks more like the electric Mini Cooper SE that seems to have adapted to styles of "simplicity, transparency, sustainability."

Talking of the Strip, Smith said, “I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to rethink the iconic MINI. I know and love the existing car, but by respecting the past and looking to the future we have created something very special.”

He further added, “I feel very privileged that the MINI team has given me the confidence and freedom to think laterally about the approach to the design of the car. Together I think we have created something truly unique, by going back to basics, reducing things down and stripping the car.”

Coming to the design features of the car, Smith has modified the car to its bit and removed everything that was necessary. The designer has swapped the original spares with other sustainable materials inside this concept car. Further, the bodywork has also been left transparent, giving it the looks of "the perfect imperfection."

While the exterior may look very plain and transparent at times, the designer has created a fusion of different colors inside the car.

Besides that, the Cooper SE’s dashboard is also eliminated, along with nearly everything else. The redesigned dashboard now includes a seamless design, paired with a semi-transparent section that gives it a smoky finish.

Lastly, Mini didn’t quote any performance figures of the car. However, we can say that with all the weight that the automaker has shed in the car, it will certainly be adding more speed to the car.
