The upcoming, all-electric Porsche Macan SUV will be one of its kind

With Porsche’s first-ever all-electric SUV making it to the list of powerful EV offerings, the automaker has now confirmed the arrival of its upcoming EV offering, the Porsche Macan. The car that was undergoing testing, now confirms that the model is close to production.

The upcoming car will be based on second-gen Macan that will be joining the line of the Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo. The car is a part of the automaker’s all-electric family when it will make its debut globally in 2023.

Overall, the looks and design of the car look quite similar to the current generation Macan. However, the automaker has concealed the actual exterior design of the car with an abruptly designed front end, and similarly fake exhaust tips situated at the rear.

Therefore, it makes it impossible for enthusiasts to get a glimpse of the upcoming Macan EV before it actually debuts the global platforms in 2023. That being said, Porsche hints at their upcoming EV to be one of the sportiest models in its segment.

Talking of the several tests that the automaker has been making the car undergo, the proposed Macan EV has been tested around extreme conditions, covering over 1.8 million miles, before it is prepared to get a road test. Talking about their experiments around the car, noted Michael Steiner, a member of Porsche’s Executive Board, Research and Development, affirmed in the company’s official statement, “Testing in a real-life environment is now getting underway, one of the most important milestones in the development process.”

While the automaker has been very scarce on the technical configurations of the Macan, Porsche has revealed that their upcoming EV offering will be utilizing VW Group’s new Premium Platform Electric architecture.

Lastly, the platform might sound familiar because a similar platform was used by Audi in their upcoming A6 e-tron.
