I recently took a test drive of the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, and while the luxury SUV did impress me with its bells and whistles, it just could not make the cut for me to shell out an amount of over SGD45,000 for it. The first reason is the unavailability of a diesel-fed powertrain. Considering the GLS-Class’s size and stature, and the capabilities it boasts, I believe a diesel engine should have been on offer. Other than that, the price tag that this car is carrying currently is a little too high. For now, I will have to look someplace else for an SUV.
