Audi Q7

The cockpit of the Q7 is particularly designed to make it look luxurious and futuristic. Premium quality material, especially leather, can be spotted all around and every nook and corner get a touch of class. Right in front of you is the standard Audi virtual cockpit plus on the 12.3 inches display. It shows all the vital information about the vehicle, along with the fully digital instrument cluster. You can connect your smartphone to your vehicle using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional controls can be accessed through the standard MMI Navigation plus with MMI touch response. The cabin is very spacious, with enough headroom and legroom at the front and the back. It can accommodate seven people easily, and with the folded second and third row, you get 2050 litres of boot space, which is massive.

The Audi Q7 looks powerful and sporty from every angle. It is taller, wider, and longer than the last version. The front features a wide, trapezoidal-shaped grille that gives it an eye-catching look. Even the front bumper has been re-shaped and now accommodates the Matrix LED headlights. The sloping roofline extends till the rear and the metallic outlines over the windows look striking. At the rear, the tailgate and the LED taillights have also been re-styled. Wide 19-inch alloy wheels are offered as standard, with options to upgrade. An optional panoramic sunroof allows fresh air and light inside the cabin. The Q7 is offered in two standard solid body paint schemes and eight metallic paint finishes; however, you get to choose from plenty of customised paint finishes by paying extra.

The Q7 is surely a large SUV, particularly for driving around with family, but it's far from dull and domestic. Its handling is very nimble and has an excellent road grip due to which it can be easily manoeuvred around, despite being bulky and heavy. The steering wheel is as light as you would like and the German SUV is exceptionally responsive owing to Audi's Quattro permanent all-wheel drive. With the series-standard Audi drive select driving dynamics system, you can actively change the vehicle's characteristics via seven different modes; it also includes the optional sport air suspension that regulates the vehicle height.

The Q7 is offered in two variants – the standard 2.0 TFSI Quattro Tiptronic and the 3.0 TFSI Quattro triptonic. The 2.0 variant is powered by a 1984 cc, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, turbocharger engine that produces 252 hp max power between 5000-6000 rpm and peak torque of 370 Nm between 1650-4500 rpm, whereas the 3.0 variant gets power from a 2995 cc, 24-valves, V6 engine with turbocharger and Audi valvelift system that generates 340 hp max power between 5200-6400 rpm and 500 Nm peak toque between 1370-4500 rpm. Both engines get an 8-speed tiptronic transmission and are equipped with series-standard mild-hybrid technology for better fuel efficiency.

Audi has not left any gaps in terms of vehicle safety. The Q7 is equipped with 18-inch disc brakes at both ends. Noteworthy safety features include passenger airbag, side airbag-front, child safety locks, driver airbag, anti-lock braking system, vehicle stability control system, crash sensor, rear seat belts, seat belt warning, day and night rearview mirror, rear camera, parking sensors, door ajar warning, engine check warning, tyre pressure monitor, front impact beams and side-impact beams. 

The Q7 has been one of the favourite SUVs in Singapore and the latest model is furthermore appealing. It's a premium SUV with a heavy price tag, but then no vehicle in the premium segment is cheap. The Audi Q7 has no shortcomings in terms of looks, interior, and performance and sits with the chart leaders of the premium SUV segment.
