Volkswagen Polo

On the inside, the Volkswagen Polo has transformed itself massively, by following the latest design philosophy and interior layout of much bigger and more premium Volkswagens. The incorporation of the latest technological features has made it appeal much more futuristic than ever before.

The three-spoke flat bottomed multi-functional steering wheel is the only bit that seems to be lifted off from the previous Polo. Rest assured, there is an all-new 10.25-inch high-resolution TFT instrument console that displays a plethora of information, including that of navigation and infotainment system as well.

Speaking of the infotainment system, there is an all-new 8-inch touchscreen unit on the center console, which like before, is slightly tilted towards the driver's side. The middle layer of the dashboard gets an all-red finish which looks indeed sporty in contrast to the all-black cabin here.

The new Volkswagen Polo is stuffed with latest of the features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start with keyless entry, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, height-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, and a panoramic sunroof.

The new-generation Volkswagen Polo is significantly bigger than the model it has replaced and has surely transformed into a much more modern and sleeker-looking car. The new styling has transformed it altogether, without altering its original flavor much.

The sleek front end of the Volkswagen Polo welcomes you with the rectangular front grille, which has a single chrome lining with the VW logo in the middle. The headlamps have grown large in size with curved shape from the outer edges, and are full-LED units with daytime running LEDs incorporated in them. The fog lamp housings too have grown large in size and look aggressive, and house the all-new full LED fog lamps. 

The side profile of the Volkswagen Polo looks crisper and sleeker than ever before, thanks to the addition of a new sharp character line flowing sideways as well as prominent chrome garnish on the window waistline. The five-spoke alloy wheels look sporty and are quite large in size, thus filling the wheel arches pretty well.

At t back too, the Volkswagen Polo has grown large in size with a wider looking boot lid and a set of new all-LED tail lamps. Here too, across the width of the boot lid, there is a character line flowing which explains that this new iteration is sleeker and bigger than the model it has replaced.

The Volkswagen Polo has always been a driver’s delight and the new iteration continues to give you the same sensation. With excellently weighted steering and taut suspension setup, the Polo feels precise to drive with good responses on straight stretches as well as sharp curves. The ride quality, however, is on a stiffer side though.

This latest generation of the Volkswagen Polo is powered by the best 1.0-litre unit Volkswagen has ever produced till date. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as standard, pumps out 115 PS of power output and 200 Nm of peak torque output. 

Creating a new benchmark in safety standards, the new Volkswagen Polo is armed with safety features such as front, side and curtain airbags, electronic stability program with an anti-slip regulator, driver steering recommendation, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic differential lock, engine drag torque control, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, fatigue detection system and reverse camera.
