Leaked patent images give a sneak peek at the 2021 BMW 4 Series Convertible

The prototype of the upcoming  BMW Series 4 Convertible has already been spotted several times, and now the leaked patent images of the drop-top model appeared on the internet. The images are published by China National Intellectual Property Administration and discovered by Autoblog Greece.

The said images reveal a similar underpinning of the 2021 Series 4 Convertible as the 4-Series Coupe. The car will sport a massive grille with vertical air intakes and sweptback headlights to compel with the sportiness.

Interestingly, the upcoming BMW adapts a plethora of changes to mark an enhanced future for the lineup. It gets an angular beltline and smaller quarter glass when compared to its previous generation. The car also carries a much flat trunk that comes with a third brake light integrated into the spoiler. The car seems to be re-designed on the front with some minor tweaks on the rear.

While nothing can be vouched for the engine options of the car, it is expected to be powered by a 430i engine variant that will be turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder, giving out a maximum power output of 255 hp besides generating a peak torque of 398 Nm. With the suggested engine option, the convertible is expected to run 0 to 96 kmph in an estimated 5.5 seconds.

Other than this, we can also expect the 2021 BMW 4 Series Convertible to run on M440i paired to a turbocharged 3.0L inline-six, maxing out at 382 hp and producing 500 Nm of peak torque.

Coming to the cabin of the 2021 BMW 4 Series Convertible, the leaked images do not reveal the interior of the model but, it is likely to have an 8.8-inch infotainment system along with a 5.1-inch information display. Other interior highlights might include a satellite navigation system, real-time traffic info, and Apple CarPlay connectivity amongst others.

The automaker might also provide a Live Cockpit Professional package to its upcoming offering, adding a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a bigger 10.25-inch infotainment system inside the cabin.

BMW seems to be accelerating the entire process for a possibility of an early debut; stay tuned for further updates.
