2022 Subaru XV launched in Malaysia, check details

Back in November, Subaru previewed the all-new 2022 XV in Thailand, which has now entered the Malaysian market. It is on offer in two versions -  2.0i-P Eyesight and 2.0 i-P GT Edition, priced at RM 139,788 (SGD 45,316) and RM 146,788 (SGD 47,585), respectively. The prices are on-the-road, without insurance.

    To begin with design, the Japanese SUV now looks cleaner and up-to-date thanks to new exterior styling. It features a revamped front fascia with a new grille mesh teamed up with restyled auto-LED headlights and bumper. It also gets a few updates on the rear along with new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. With the GT edition, Subaru offers an exclusive body kit and 18-inch wheels.

    The interior highlights of the new Subaru XV are an eight-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, electronic parking brake, eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, rear view camera, USB ports, fabric seats with orange stitching and more.

    On the safety front, the facelifted XV is now equipped with the brand’s EyeSight ADAS suite as standard, It comprises features like pre-collision braking, pre-collision throttle management, adaptive cruise control with and stop & go, lead vehicle start alert, lane sway warning, and lane departure warning.

    Powering the new Subaru XV is the same naturally aspirated boxer-four cylinder engine generating a maximum power output of 156 PS at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 196 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. While engine and transmission continue to be the same, under the hood changes include dual-function X-Mode, SI-Drive drive mode selector, AWD torque split, a retuned suspension, and upgraded braking system for tricky off-road conditions.

    Subaru offers the new XV in six colours viz. Crystal Black Silica, Dark Blue Pearl,  Ice Silver Metallic, Pure White, Magnetite Grey Metallic, and Cool Grey Khaki.
