Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace facelift debut set for May 12

Volkswagen is all set to pull the wrap off its 2021 Tiguan Allspace facelift in the US market. Based on the five-seater Tiguan, the Allspace features an extended wheelbase, capable of accommodating over seven occupants. The automaker has also released a teaser, revealing a portion of the side and rear of the upcoming SUV.

While there have been no such claims by the automaker, the Allspace facelift will be retaining the design features seen on the standard Tiguan facelift (pictured below). However, the leaked images of the car present us with some cosmetic changes, poured with an improved cabin, and a 2.0L turbocharged engine in the facelift offering.

So far, the leaked images surfacing the internet highlight that the Allspace gets a similar pair of the redesigned front, angular matrix LED headlamps and rear bumpers. Further, the car also gets access to revised LED tail lamps and a new set of alloy wheels, similar to the standard Tiguan.

All of the revised tweaking along with the revamped looks of the car give it an added dimension of the car, making the Allspace longer by an extra 215 mm over its present generation 5-seater variant.

Powering the Tiguan Allspace facelift could be an uprated 147TDI diesel engine just like the 5-seater version. However, the current buzz also says that the SUV might be powered by a 2L petrol engine, mated to a seven-speed DSG auto unit. The engine will be churning out 190 hp of power, powering the 4MOTION All Wheel Drive system.

Inside, the dashboard highlights a similar style layout as the existing SUV. However, the facelifted variant is also expected to come with new and updated features. Some of them include the updated touch-based climate controls, and a re-designed steering wheel adapted from the VW ID cars.

Lastly, being a part of the VW lineup, the car is also expected to highlight some of the best tech-based features by the automaker. Whatever the offerings are, let’s wait for the official debut of the upcoming car.
