I recently test-drove the E Class Saloon and was overwhelmingly impressed. It looks a smaller S Class or a larger C Class, depending upon your point of view, but the E Class Saloon is a mighty technological statement. It’s also much bigger than the earlier model and probably the roomiest car in its segment. Driving the car is a pleasure. I particularly liked the Drive Pilot, which marries the vehicle’s adaptive cruise control with the active steering and serves up an authentic self-driving experience. There’s quite some noise while starting the car, which becomes impressively hushed in the motorway.
