Nissan X-Trail Interior & Features

On the inside, the Nissan X-Trail might not look as flashy with a lot of gadgetries, but instead, with its mature layout and sufficiently long feature list, it feels premium on the inside.

The driver’s cockpit, with its flat bottom multi-functional steering wheel as well as comprehensive but simple looking instrument console, provides a very good view ahead. The center console too has a simple layout to it, but with a modern touchscreen infotainment system and a panel for dual-zone automatic climate control below it, it looks properly loaded. The upper portion of the dashboard, which is finished in soft-touch brown leather, houses twin horizontally laid AC vents.

The Nissan X-Trail sold here in Singapore is a three-row SUV, however, the third row of seats is best suited for kids due to limited room. Rest assured, the Nissan X-Trail has a good equipment list, comprising of features like a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, leather upholstery, powered front seats, push-button start with keyless entry and more.

X-Trail Exterior

The Nissan X-Trail doesn’t look as macho and outright tough as some of its more premium SUV stablemates from Nissan’s global portfolio. However, if you see it from the perspective of a large crossover, it does have a very smart design which looks proportionate and smooth.

At the front, the Nissan X-Trail has got a sloping front bonnet which has nice contours on its sides and ends up on a wide front fascia. The front fascia of the SUV follows an angular approach, with the sharp-looking angular headlamps placed on the sides of the large trapezoidal front grille. The headlamps do incorporate LED projectors and arrowhead-shaped daytime running LEDs, whereas the grille features a large extended U-shaped chrome accent to give it a premium look when viewed head-on. To infuse some ruggedness into its appeal, the front bumper gets thick cladding and silver-finished skid plate.

The side profile of the Nissan X-Trail looks heightened with the high ground clearance, however, the curved front hood and rounded wheel arches make it look like a typical crossover. The window waistline rises sharply towards the C-pillar, with the entire window frame getting finished in chrome. Adding to it, the machined alloy wheels and chrome finish on the door handles as well as below the doors keep on reminding you that it is a premium vehicle.

At the back, the Nissan X-Trail is at its stylish best, with the SUV getting trapezoidal LED tail lamps with tapered edges. While the raked windscreen and roof spoiler makes it look sporty, the rear bumper with its blackened central portion finished with chrome lining add some premium touch to it.

Nissan X-Trail Ride & Handling

Having a capable four-wheel-drive system as standard, the Nissan X-Trail is an effortless SUV to drive over rough and rocky terrains despite having an impression of a large crossover. The Nissan X-Trail gets an independent suspensions setup at both front and rear, with the front getting Macpherson struts and rear having a multi-link setup.

X-Trail Engine & Fuel Consumption

The only engine and gearbox combination available in the Nissan X-Trail is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine coupled to a CVT gearbox and getting a four-wheel-drive setup as standard. The engine pumps out a maximum power output of 144 PS and a peak torque output of 200 Nm.

Nissan X-Trail Braking & Safety

The list of safety features made available in the Nissan X-Trail as standard includes front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, hill start assist, hill descent control, rear parking sensors, vehicle dynamic control, around view monitor, auto emergency braking and active brake limited slip.

X-Trail Verdict

With a smart design and well laid out interior cabin, the Nissan X-Trail feels like a very thoughtfully designed product which is high on practicality and usability, without compromising on premium appeal and sophistication.
