Like the exterior, the interior design also has a sense of youthfulness attached to it. The all-black cabin with contrast silver bits looks good, though there are a lot of hard and scratchy plastics which make the cabin feel cheap in some places.

The drover’s cockpit of the Suzuki Swift looks sporty with a flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel and driver-focused dual-pod instrument console with red highlights and a rectangular 4.2-inch MID in between. While the corners of the dashboard have trapezoidal AC vents on the corners, the AC vents on the top of the centre console are rounded.

The centre console of the dashboard of the Suzuki Swift has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is offered with the compatibility of Android Auto and Apple Carplay. At the bottom of the centre console, there are three rounded dials, which serve as the controls for the automatic climate control. The Suzuki Swift is decently loaded with equipment like a push start-stop button, driver seat height adjustment and tilt-adjustable steering wheel with audio, Bluetooth and cruise controls.

The Suzuki Swift might be a four-year-old design now, but even today, it looks one of the most appealing and youthful designs around among compact hatchbacks. The design, which is an evolution of its predecessor, is very much proportionate and makes the car look sporty from all angles.

At the front, the Suzuki Swift has a wide stance with sweptback headlamps with bulges over them on the bonnet, which gives a nice and curvy look to the car. The headlamps look very modern with LED projectors and daytime running LEDs below them. The grille in the middle is large and comes with honeycomb inserts within it, with a thin strip of chrome bisecting the grille. The wide L-shaped fog lamp housings merge with a sleek air dam in between the lower part of the front bumper.

The Suzuki Swift has a two-door look on the side, thanks to the integration of rear door handles into the C-pillar. The contours on the front and rear fenders and 15-inch machined alloy wheels give the car a very sporty look. All the pillars here – A, B and C – are blacked out, which gives the car the effect of having a floating roof.

At the back, the Suzuki Swift has a clean look, with wide-shaped tail lamps with C-shaped LED inserts within them. The boot lid has no characteristic crease or curve, but its slanted look, along with the raked design of the windscreen and high loading lip for the rear bumper, gives the Swift a squatted stance.

The Suzuki Swift has always been regarded as one of the finest handling hatchbacks ever made in the compact segment, and it continues to hold that supremacy even today. While the steering feedback has become lighter than before, the chassis feels taut, as a result of which it holds its grip around the corners very well. Though, the ride quality is slightly on the firmer side to make sure the Swift doesn’t compromise much on sporty handling.

The Suzuki Swift gets only one powertrain option in the form of a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Available with a CVT gearbox as standard, this engine is paired to a mild-hybrid system and pumps out 80 bhp of maximum power and 107 Nm of torque output. While the maximum fuel efficiency of the Swift is rated at 24.21 kmpl, the top speed of the Swift is 175 kmph.

For an affordable compact hatchback, the Suzuki Swift is decently equipped with basic safety features like dual front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, adaptive cruise control, hill hold assist, lane departure warning, weaving alert, and reverse parking sensors and reverse camera.

The Suzuki Swift is one of those affordable cars which feel aspirational to drive with the perfect combination of a peppy petrol engine and a taut chassis, which makes it one of the most fun-to-drive cars in the budget-oriented category.
