2021 Suzuki Swift Sport now on sale in Singapore
Singapore has recently experienced a return of the Suzuki Swift Sport, which is sportier than before. However, it is to be noted that the car now has something more to contribute to the market, with a new exterior paint job and added offerings in the specs sheet.
With the third generation on offer, the car is sold via a sole distributor of the brand in the country i.e. Champion Motors. Interestingly, the latest hatchback is a completely different model from the one that recently launched in Malaysia.
Talking of the looks of the car, the aggressive hatchback is clearly a more re-defined version of the outgoing model. The car seems to reconcile with strong lines that run across the exterior of the body. Further, the rear also gets sportier with dual exhausts.
Powering the all-new Suzuki Swift Sport is a 1.4L turbocharged cylinder petrol engine that is patented to the automaker’s SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle By Suzuki) hybrid system of 48-volt, giving out 127 hp of power, besides 235 Nm of torque. It is exclusively mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Designated to K14D, the revamped engine is taking over 9.1 seconds to touch down triple-digit speeds while giving a successful return of 21.2 km per litre. The engine also gets an A2 rating, making it the second-highest banding, currently on the country’s Vehicular Emission System (VES) Banding.
Coming to the other additional kit modification of the current generation, the add-ons in the car include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, 195/45 profile tyres, LED tail lights, and halogen fog lamps. The car also receives a reverse camera, keyless entry and start, and rear parking sensors.
Inside, the car gets a 4.2-inch multi-info display, paired to a seven-inch touchscreen head unit that gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, and automatic air-conditioning. Coming to the safety end of the car, it gets Hill-Hold Assist, six airbags, ESP, EBD, ABS, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Lastly, the car is available in a sporty colour, resonating with two-tone options. It is priced at SGD 109,900.
