Volkswagen teases a facelifted Polo in Europe, possibilities of Singapore arrival?

Volkswagen has introduced the European masses to the sixth generation of the Polo facelift. The car gets major tweaking around its exterior and now rides on the MQB-AO platform.

Currently, in its sixth generation, the avid users or enthusiasts of the Volkswagen Polo will notice the difference in the facelifted car, almost immediately. The tweaks around the car give it a more premium looks with a reworked headlamp that integrates LED DRLs, making them automatic. The light consoles are MATRIX LED and add an aggressive look to the car.

Further, you can also witness a light bar, placed under the front grille connecting the two headlamps. Besides the tweak in its illumination, the car also highlights revamped alloy wheel design. Moving to the rear, the squarish tail lamps of the car has been replaced by horizontally stretched-out units, making it similar to the other offerings in the Volkswagen lineup.

One can also change some tweaks around the styling lines, they’re now more aggressive and add to the looks of the hatch. Lastly, the Polo badging on the boot of the car has now been swapped to place underneath the Volkswagen logo.

Talking of the powertrain offering of the car, Volkswagen continues to offer its sixth-gen Polo with a 1.0L petrol engine and a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine in its GTI variant. Transmission options in the car include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, and a 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch transmission).

Inside, the car continues to exist with the same interior design feature. However, the only difference in the car is its blue ambient lighting and an all-black interior. Its climate control buttons have now been revamped to carry a touch option.

Lastly, talking of the sixth generation of the Polo’s arrival in Singapore, we’re expecting the automaker to bring the good news very soon. Singapore might witness the latest Polo variants by the fall of 2021.
